These are the pants I kept being asked about.
The Glide Pants first existed back in 2014, and I've brought them back because they were genuinely loved — light, floaty, easy to wear — and because I knew I could make them better.
But I want to share a little more of the story behind this particular drop, because it's taken more brain space than most things I make…
I actually had this fabric printed alongside the first Storyline prints back in 2024. At the time, I'd already blown the budget and couldn't afford to have Glide Pants made up, so I quietly pulled them from the collection.
Instead, I made myself a couple of pairs — and then lived in them all last summer.
I genuinely don't know what I'd do without a super lightweight pant in hot weather. They filled a gap in my wardrobe that nothing else really does: easy, breathable, casual, perfect for after hours and weekends.
That's why I kept circling back to them
Because this fabric is digitally printed and has a slight texture, there are some tiny white flecks through the print (not very noticeable, but still something I see). It also shrinks about 5cm on the first wash, which made getting the length right a bit of a puzzle.
At the same time, I wanted to make proper improvements to the pattern itself:
– I made them slightly longer
– added a deeper hem
– added pockets
– increased ease through the hip
– and tightened the waistband so they stay put
All of that takes time to test, adjust, and feel confident about.
I'm finally really happy with the pattern changes — but the flecks and shrinkage still made me pause. Normally, for the amount of fabric and labour these pants require, they'd need to be priced around $230.
And that just didn't feel right for this fabric and the casual nature of the style.
I also didn't want to undercharge for my time, especially for a piece I truly believe in and wear constantly myself.
So here's what I've landed on for this release:
I'm treating this as remnant fabric, not including the fabric cost in the pricing, and charging the minimum I can while still making this work sustainably.
That means, for this run only, Glide Pants are available for $150.
Preorders are open now until 15th February 2026
Making them in one batch will make the sewing more efficient so I can keep the price down.
Once the preorder closes, I'll begin cutting and sewing, and your pants will be ready to dispatch within two weeks of close. I'll share updates as I go, as always.
They're available in two lengths:
– Regular inner seam 72cm after washing and ironing (3cm shorter than Sidewalk Pants)
– Tall inner seam 82cm after washing and ironing (7cm longer than Sidewalk Pants)
The colours work beautifully with Storyline prints for a joyful print-on-print look, or with a plain tank if you prefer something simpler.
You can wear them high on your natural waist like I do, or shimmy them down on the hips — they're designed to move with you either way.
With care,
Clare
